Experience the Art of Dance at Mexico 2000!

• Classes for students starting at 5 yrs. old;  from beginners through professional levels.                        Classes are two hours per week.​
• Groups will present at least 3 recitals per year and will have the opportunity to perform at local festivals and cultural events.​                                               New students can start any time of the year, from January-November.
• You can come to try out a class for only $15.00 each and without commitment!

• When you come to try the class student must come dressed with black leggins/sweat pants, black t-shirt, sox and tennis shoes and girls' hair pulled back in a bun.

•  Mexico 2000 has different groups and schedules, the following information is given as to receive a better idea of the different levels and classes. 
• There could be some flexibility in class placement, depending on a combination of factors such as the student's age, experience, commitment, and maturity.

5-7 years old

Beginners Level

• Folklorico 1 is an introduction to rhythm, music and dance. Students identify songs and where they are from. Basic steps, arm movements and posture are introduced. Students will experience their first performing experiences on stage!

 5-8  years old

Beginners-Intermediate Levels

• ​​Folklorico 2 has additional rhythms, music and dances. Students identify songs and where they are from. There is more focus on basic steps, arm movement and stage presence. 

 9-11 years old.

Intermediate-Advance Levels

• Folklorico 3 will focus more in dance technique to improve rhythm and dance performance.
•  Students identify songs and where they are from.  Basic steps are introduced and arm movements in preparation to skirt technique will start.

11-13 years old

Beginners-Intermediate Levels

• Folklorico 4 are classes for beginners and intermediate dancers. 
• Students will learn basic steps and combinations. 
• Dances from different regions at a intermediate level.

 14-17 years old

Intermediate-Advance Levels

• Folklorico 5 is an even more intense dance class  which require a minimum of 2-4 years of dance experience. This class will start combining advanced dance steps into more complex sequences and dances. 

Skirt technique for

Intermediate-Advance Levels

12 years old to adults

• Skirt movements with basic to more complex steps are the focus of this class.
• This is a class to be better prepared for "faldeo/ skirt movement".

Adults Class

Beginners-Intermediate Levels

• Adult classes for beginners and intermediate dancers. 
• Students will learn basic steps and combinations. 
• Dances from different regions at a intermediate level.

 "M2K Dance Company"

• This group is a fast-paced setting for the advanced youth and adult dancer, level of knowledge must be high. 
• This group offers complete "Cuadros Costumbristas", that represent a specific theme from a region of Mexico.
• Performance expectations are at professional levels.
• This is the performing group for Private Events and School Educational performances.
